A Good Look At The 'Fair Tax' - not so fair
Posted by Ralyn on 2011/5/20 15:20:00 (1682 reads)
Government & Politics

When I first heard the 'Fair Tax' propaganda, I thought, "hmmm, this looks interesting, maybe I should check it out." So, I posted a few links up on Facebook and asked my political friends for opinions and comments to see what they thought...

Well, within about a half hour of discussing and thinking on the issue, I managed to convincingly talk myself right into opposing the 'Fair Tax' very staunchly. I've debated the issue with fellow Patriots that support it; and every discussion has only convinced me even more that the 'Fair Tax' is in all reality a NIGHTMARE TAX.

A week or so ago, I decided to actually look up opposing arguments instead of the supporting arguments. I just couldn't understand how people thought it was a good thing, if they really thought about it. My discovery was that my personal opinon and thoughts were confirmed with documentation that appears to be getting much less voice. (It's always nice to know that I'm not the only one that thinks it's insane, lol.)

Soros group launches attack on poll watchers

Jackson Lee accused of threatening observers with Justice investigation

Posted: October 25, 2010
By Bob Unruh

A George Soros-funded organization, aided by Texas U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, a Democrat, apparently is trying to chase volunteer observers from precinct polling locations across Harris County, Texas, after the watchers found election judges and clerks allegedly voting for citizens who were undecided.

"Only a week into early voting, volunteer poll-watchers also are being verbally and physically harassed by people loitering at the polls with no intention to vote at the time, including a man identified as a reverend and Houston Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, who was seen inside the polling location electioneering and threatening to turn a poll-watcher's name to the Department of Justice for voter intimidation," said a statement from Liberty Institute.

The latest on the Constitution Party’s fight for ballot access

By DOUG IBENDAHL • September 7, 2010

The Constitution Party’s slate of seven statewide candidates is still alive and kicking. This morning we had the first hearing in Cook County Circuit Court in response to our request for Judicial Review filed last week. Today was mostly just a status call for scheduling. The Illinois Board of Elections is obligated to provide a copy of the record from the agency proceeding to the court and that’s still in progress. It’s a very large record after close to three months of Pat Brady’s hired guns throwing everything they could at these conservative candidates seeking ballot access.

Barring any changes due to court action, there will be four candidates for the U.S. Senate and five for governor on Illinois’ Nov. 2 ballot.

Randy Stufflebeam of Belleville, who filed to be the Constitution Party candidate for U.S. Senate, hopes the courts will order his party to be listed on ballots, reversing last week’s decision by the State Board of Elections.

Stufflebeam and the Constitution candidates’ lawyer, Doug Ibendahl of Chicago, said they expect to go to court by Wednesday.

Meanwhile, however, the candidates certified to the ballot include:

Illinois House approves recall resolution to remove officeholders

SPRINGFIELD — The House passed a resolution Saturday that will give voters the chance to write recall powers into the state's constitution next year.

Gov. Patrick Quinn was on the House floor for the vote on the bill, which passed 109-6, and testified on behalf of the measure before a House committee earlier in the week.

Quinn told the committee 18 states have recall provisions that allow voters to remove elected officials from office but it's only been used twice on sitting governors — once in 1923 in North Dakota and again in 2003 in California.

Because recall would have to be written into the Illinois Constitution, voters would need to approve an amendment in the 2010 election. The amendment would need approval from half of all voters who voted in the election or 60 percent of those who vote on the amendment question.

Why Left Fears Hitler Comparisons

Why Left Fears Hitler Comparisons
July 14, 2010 by Jerry McDaniel

The left cannot afford to have Obama compared with Hitler

Last week, a two hundred-member Iowa Tea Party group erected a billboard in downtown Mason City, Iowa, depicting three people under the headings of “National Socialism”, “Democratic Socialism” and “Marxist Socialism”. Underneath the headings were pictures of Hitler, Obama, and Lenin. Immediately the left went into attack mode because, according to it, the billboard compared Obama to Hitler. There were no complaints about comparing him with Lenin and there is a good reason why not.

After more than a hundred-and-fifty years of the abject failure of socialism all over the world, it is essential that the left deny the lessons of history, in order to sell its failed policies. As its grip on America’s education system grew during the last half of the twentieth century, the left began to revise American history in education curricula at every level. Contexts and facts concerning important historical characters and events important to the development of America were changed to present them in a negative light. Since World War Two, the left has worked diligently and successfully to place Hitler to the right on the political spectrum in the minds of the American people.
