|The Community Club of New Boston met on Thursday, April 28th. Community Club members in attendence were Lenise Phillips, Tammy Phillips, Deeters, Nancy Nelson, & Ralyn Schraceo.|
Nancy Nelson was unanimously voted in as the new Treasurer. A new unofficial position of Community Club Historian was discussed and delegated to Ralyn Schraceo.
New Boston Fish Fry Planning:
It was decided unanimously last year to not have the same carnival back for this year. While there has been a better potential carnival found; they were already booked and will not be available for this year.
Menu & Name changes were voted on. Due to lack of volunteers the menu will be changed this year to pork chop dinners. Since fish will not be served this year, it was unanimously decided that the annual event shouldn't be called the 'Fish Fry' without the fish. Instead of New Boston Fish Fry, this year's annual event will be called the New Boston Hometown Festival.
Projected dates are the last weekend of August - to be confirmed with the city yet.
There will be a golf cart rodeo this year, thank you to Gary Schraceo for volunteering for the task, details are still in planning.
Rental of amusement rides & games are under consideration from Fun on the Run and will be discussed further at the next meeting.
The Community Club will meet again on May 12th at 5:30 in Fish Fry Park for further planning. This is an open public meeting and the Community Club would like to encourage all New Boston residents to attend and get involved.
